"Peace is not found when every voice agrees, but when every voice is heard."
It is with immense pride and heartfelt joy that I welcome each one of you to St. John's Model United Nations 2026. Headlines often remind us of wars fought across borders, but the deeper battles are those against prejudice, indifference and the unwillingness to understand another's truth.

Peace is not merely the absence of war; it is the presence of justice, empathy and human dignity.
A Model United Nations is far more than an academic exercise. It is a celebration of ideas, a meeting of diverse perspectives, and an opportunity to discover that disagreement need not diminish respect. It teaches us that true leadership is measured by the courage to seek common ground.
At St. John's, we believe education must shape both the intellect and the conscience. The finest leaders are not those who seek power, but those who choose service; not those who demand to be heard, but those who first learn to understand.
If you leave this conference with greater empathy, stronger friendships and a renewed commitment to building a more just and compassionate world, then this gathering will have achieved its highest purpose. God bless you all.
